Submitting articles to the Journal of Natural History Education
Advanced Queries Authors are invited and encouraged to ask the editor questions about developing articles, including but not limited to questions about potential topics, format, and development of ideas. Queries should be sent via email with "Query about an article for JNHE" (or words to that effect) in the subject line. To receive a response, it is necessary that any spam filter you operate on your email application be set to allow email messages from the editor. Online Submission All manuscripts should be submitted in electronic format to the editor as an attachment to an email message. The email message serves the role as a cover letter for submission, and should indicate author information, manuscript title, and the type of manuscript being submitted (description of curriculum or analysis/synthesis of ideas). The submission should originate from the email address of the corresponding author. Upon submission, an acknowledgement of receipt will be sent by way of a reply email message. If you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt within three days, we encourage you to make a follow-up inquiry. It is absolutely required that any spam filter you operate on your email application be set to allow email messages from the editor. Thus, the online submission process involves two steps:
Submission guidelines All manuscripts must follow the requested guidelines, described in the Example Manuscript. Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines will not be reviewed for publication. We adopt this policy not because we enjoy being draconian but because we do not have the resources to format manuscripts for authors. Since ours in an online journal, there are no copy editors or type setters as intermediaries between the author and the reader. Thus, each author must take the responsibility for preparing the manuscript for eventual publication. |
